Long bent gouge is curved chisel in the form of a scoop. Bent gouge is very similar to a semicircular chisel. The main difference is that its working surface is rounded not only along the end face of the blade, but also along the shaft. This form guarantees a clearer movement of the tool on the wood. Long bent gouges have flat cutting edge. This chiselis available in sizes 3mm, 5mm and 10mm.
Bent gouge is used for deep relief carving. With it you can make long clean cuts, clean the background. The curved blade allows you to make make carving is hard to reach places.
